TeaTrekker Website Launched
Mary
Lou and I are very excited to announce the launch of our
new tea-only website: TeaTrekker.com
Work started on this new site before the publication of
our book
The Story of Tea, A Cultural History and Drinking Guide.
It has taken quite a bit of energy and experimentation to
develop this tea-only site, and we are looking forward to
having a website that is focused solely on the fascinating
world of tea.
We will be sharing our tea, travels, observations, and
love of all things tea, and will also be using this site
to share input from our colleagues in the tea trade as
well.

We Have Reduced Shipping Charges
We
are doing everything we can to hold down prices for you in
the face of rising costs all around. We will not raise our
base prices for products, just to 'hide' shipping fees
within the prices of our goods. Veteran shoppers will note
that our prices are extremely competitive and we only
charge the minimum needed for shipping. We receive many
compliments on our expert packing and merchandise that
arrives in excellent condition.
CooksShopHere.com has instituted a 'cap' on shipping
charges which means that the more you purchase, the less
the shipping will cost.
The shipping charges are now shown on a chart that can be
previewed, rather than being a calculated formula that you
can't view prior to completing your order.
Our shipping charges are some of the lowest in the food
business.
Additionally, we are very happy to announce new,
simplified shipping charges for TeaTrekker.com.
If you are purchasing tea only, you will find that
ordering from TeaTrekker.com is the way to go.
For example, on TeaTrekker.com shipping is FREE for a tea
purchase of $100.00 or more and is only $6.00 for a tea
purchase smaller than that.
WOW !

New-Crop Oolong Teas From Taiwan, Black Teas from
Yunnan Province, and 2008 Spring Green Teas
This
is a TEA BONANZA!!
We hand-carried back a small quantity of the incredible
Oolongs that we found on our recent tea-sourcing trip to
Taiwan.
Here are some details - for more information consult
TeaTrekker.com, CooksShopHere.com, or come on in and see
them in person.
Oolong Tea:
Li Shan winter pluck 'Da Yu Ling'
Li Shan spring pluck 'Da Yu Ling'
(These are 2 of the best and most-sought-after High
Mountain Oolongs from Taiwan)
The chance to purchase these two famous oolongs alone
would be enough to cause most mere tea-enthusiast- mortals
to break out in a sweat
( in fact, everyone we know who drinks these teas
regularly does - after the third or fourth infusion - for
these are classic 'cooling teas' perfect for chillin' out
on our blazing summer days!
But wait, we brought back more tea for you !
Bai Hao 'Oriental Beauty'
Luku Dong Ding
Baozhong Oolong
Indeed, as you can see from this listing, we have some of
all of the most famous teas in all of Taiwan.
So when you are looking for an Oolong tea that will steep
7,9, or perhaps 15 !?! times - leaves that just have so
much flavor that it may take 2 hours or more of happy,
blissful tea drinking to infuse it all out - these are the
teas for you to try.
As if that wasn't enough, three of your favorite Black
teas from Yunnan Province that have been unavailable for
the last year are now
BACK IN STOCK:
Buds of Gold
rare Golden Needles
and Tippy Golden FOP
We have missed these teas sorely, but the weather this
year has been cooperative and the Pu-erh mania went bust,
so these great teas are with us again.
So what about those 2008 Spring Green Teas?
We have several amazing Spring 2008 Green Teas from
various provinces in China, and Spring 2008 Green teas
from Japan as well.
We were fortunate to locate two teas from the exquisitely
beautiful Mengding Mountain and one from revered Mt. Emei,
all in Sichuan Province. These were shipped to us early in
the season and made it out before the earthquake struck.
We have one of the finest Bi Lo Chuns that we have ever
had, and Mist on the River is back with its smooth,
delicious mouth-filling body and sweet, lingering
aftertaste.
We have this year's crop of our classic Japanese Green
teas - and all are fantastic.
So, even if you don't drink tea you should be excited
about all this, because it is AWESOME for those who do,
and surely you must know a tea lover who deserves a gift
of these fine teas ?!?

favorite teas are available, click here

2008 Taiwan
Oolong Tea Trek
Our
recent tea trek to Hong Kong and Taiwan was everything we
hoped it would be. We drank great tea (including some
amazing Pu-erhs and aged oolongs) and met with many
colleagues, old friends and new acquaintances.
In Taiwan, we were invited to attend the day-long annual
meeting of the Taiwan Tea Manufacturer's Association. Mary
Lou and I, along with Mike Spillane of G.S. Haly & Co.
( a leading American tea importer) had all been asked to
speak on the importance of Taiwan Tea in the North
American market and where we thought these growers should
be putting more or less effort, and to address in general
the status of Taiwan tea (particularly oolong) in America.
