Our
Fuka-mushi Sencha is similar to our Fuka-midor Sencha
but with one difference. In fact, the two are very
complimentary and they make for a nice side-by-side
tasting.
The fresh leaf for Fuka-mushi Sencha undergoes
slightly longer steaming step when the leaf enters the
tea factory and before it travels on to undergo the
remaining steps of sencha tea manufacture.
On entering the tea factory, all fresh leaf in Japan
undergoes a short steaming step. This is one of the
many reasons why Japanese tea tastes so different from
Chinese green teas. The length of time fresh leaf is
steamed is determined by what type of sencha is being
made.
In our Fuka-mushi Sencha the flavor is buttery and
sweet. The vibrancy of the spring pluck is toned down.
Essentially this is a sencha for those who likes their
tea rich, vegetal, and full in the mouth with rounded
edges and very little bitterness.
Use 1.5 teaspoons (2-3 grams)
per 6 oz of water
Steep 2-3 infusions at 2 minutes
each.
Water temperature should be 170˚ - 180˚ F |
