Tai Ping Hou Kui is very rarely offered outside of China. One of China’s greatest tea treasures, we are very excited to have visited this incredible tea-growing location so that we can have some Tai Ping Hou Kui tea to offer you.

Tai Ping Lake lies just northwest of the Huang Shan in Anhui Province, and is a beautiful, man-made lake full of aquaculture, and serves as an experimental station for much agricultural and aquatic research. The land area is mostly organic and protected; it required special visas from Beijing for us to visit this incredible place and see the production of Tai Ping Hou Kui tea.

Tai Ping Hou Kui tea is one of the very few teas that requires firing both by the pan-fired method and the basket-fired method. This extra step necessitates much skill and far more time than any other traditional tea preparation.

Steep 2-3 infusions at 2 minutes each.
Water temperature should be 160˚ - 170˚ F
