We knew we
would like this tea as soon as we saw it!
The appearance of the leaf in a tea isn't always
reliable as an indicator of a tea's drinking quality,
but there are times when a tea's taste matches or
surpasses the expectation for it (based on the careful
attention-to-detail of its manufacture).
ThrushSong™ is such a tea! Reminiscent of the style of
Tai Ping Hou Kui, this pressed-leaf green tea is truly
a visual delight both in its dry form and when wet.
Smooth, dry, and exuding chestnut and new-mown-grass
aromatics, ThrushSong™ will appeal to both green tea
enthusiasts and novice tea drinkers.
ThrushSong™ has an abundance of flavor and a pleasant,
mouth-filling heft on the palate. It is extremely
well-made, has a satisfying balance of body to rich
flavor, and tends to linger on the palate. It is
neither sharp nor astringent, but has a depth of
flavor indicative of a well-fired, pan-fired green
tea. When steeped, the budsets open to show
slightly-silvered buds tucked between plump,
artichoke-colored leaves.
Use 2 heaping Tablespoons per 6
oz of water
Steep 2-3 infusions at 2 minutes each.
Water temperature should be 170° - 180° F |
