Our
just-arrived 2012 harvest Yunnan
Spring Buds is an extremely well-made tea that shows a
careful pluck and experienced manufacture. It is a
light-tasting, early spring green tea, yet it is
flavorsome and has good mouth-feel. Yunnan Spring Buds
is a delightfully smooth and rich tea for the tea
enthusiast who prefers a completely non-astringent
cup. If one tends to ‘wander’ while steeping one’s
tea, this is a perfect choice, as it is very difficult
to make this tea become astringent or over-steeped. It
is a real ‘go-to’ tea for many different tea-drinking
times and preferences.
The color of Yunnan Spring Buds’ dry leaf is
suggestive of a small-bud white tea; however, when
observing the exquisitely-formed shape that the buds
have assumed during manufacture one sees that the tea
is clearly a green tea. Upon steeping, of course, it
is clearly a green tea, as it has the perfect flavor
profile of a gentle green, and none of the oxidized
flavor of a bud-only white tea. Looking at the exquisite
buds when re-hydrated they are such perfect little
green tea buds – a wonderful example of the tea
artist’s craft.
Our new 2012
Yunnan Spring Buds tea has a unique core flavor that
results from the special nature of the indigenous tea
bushes that grow in southwestern Yunnan Province.
Use 2 teaspoons (2 - 3 grams) per 6 oz
of water
