teacup has a strong presence. At first look it appears to
just be dark and black. But closer examination reveals its
true soul in a fine grain, understated luster glaze. The
potters technique yielded a finish reminiscent of a
Chinese oil spot glaze, but with less bravado and sass.
This glaze effect is elusive and modest - and very, very
charming.
The clay body is an unusual brown/grey color. The perfect
cup for when you are sipping oolongs or just feeling
pensive on a fall or winters day.
