Chinese Celadon Teacups -
Hewan Longquan Celadon
Longquan is a celadon glazed porcelain
made in Longquan county and in neighboring countys in
Zhejiang province China.
Beginning in the Song dynasty and
continuing Yuan dynasty, Longquan celadon entered a most
prosperous period during which the skills of these fine
celadon wares reached new heights.
Two Lonquan celadon
kilns -Ge kiln and Di kiln- are two of China's Five Famous
kilns from the Song dynasty. From the imperial courts of
ancient China and later to the tea tables of European
royalty, Longquan celadon has always been highly prized.
Today, these finely crafted teacups still feature the classic
proportions, delicate thin lip, and graceful small cup foot that
are hallmarks of quality Chinese tea ceramics.
