A charming, beautifully-made, fully-glazed inside and out,
delicate little bone china teapot from Jingdezhen, the
porcelain capitol of China. It is reminiscent in size and
task to a Yixing teapot, giving this pot both style and
practicality, but at a much lower cost.
Measuring just 2.75 inches in height, this little teapot
is very practical for gong fu tea steeping. But as this
teapot is fully-glazed, it will not absorb the flavor of
the tea, so unlike Yixing, any tea can be steeped in this
bone china teapot as the teapot will not influence flavor
or retain flavor.
A seven-hole strainer is built into the spout of the
teapot to catch tea leaves and for ease of pouring. The
red string keeps the lid secured to the teapot, but can be
removed.
*Bone china is a very special type of porcelain. Because
of its exact clay formula, bone china is finer, more
elegant, thinner-walled, lighter in weight and more
translucent than porcelain. Many consider it the most
perfect material for glazed teawares.
