Artist:
Seiho ( Tsuzuki Takao )
Strainer-style: Clay sasame
Packaging: Cardboard box
Seiho collects
maple leaves during the year and carefully stores them in
a protective box in a refrigerator, and takes out what he
needs whenever he create one of these teapots. First he
paints a slips over the body of the teapot and carefully
impresses maple leaves all over it in a decorative
pattern. When he peels away the maple leaves, a detailed,
skeletal impression of the leaf remains. Seiho adds detail
to the rich, black impressions of the leaves, and
compliments them by featuring a soothing dark, moss-green
glaze over the body of the teapot.
