We are
thrilled to have this delicious white tea for the
second year in a row. It quickly became a customer
favorite last year, and we encourage white tea
drinkers ( and fans of lightly oxidized oolong teas
such as our Nepal Silvertips and Bai Hao from Taiwan,
too ) to give this tea a try, too.
This tea is made from leaf plucked from tea bushes in
what was an “abandoned” tea garden hidden deep in the
mountains. It has a distinctive slight twist and fuzzy
appearance to the leaf, a product of knowledgeable
handwork and careful drying. The tea and liquor has a
depth of color that is quite oolong-like and surprises
the eye.
Wild Curly-leaf has a style that satisfies on several
levels – its body is mouth-filling and rich; it has a
honey-like flavor that lingers pleasantly on the
palate; and it is un-complicated to prepare. This tea
is difficult to classify although the manufacture pegs
it as a white tea. It has that certain something which
appeals to tea drinkers of all stripes.
Use 2.5
Tablespoons (2-3 grams) per 6 oz of water
Steep 2-3
infusions at 2 minutes each.
Water temperature should be 170˚ F |
